Newly Named Petco Love Invests in Lifesaving Work of Dallas Cat Lady!

Grant of $40,000 will help save more pet lives in the Dallas Metroplex

Dallas, TX (April 2021) – Dallas Cat Lady announced today a $40,000 grant investment from the newly named, Petco Love, to support their lifesaving work for animals in the Dallas Metroplex.

Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they’ve empowered organizations with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And, they’ve helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations, like ours, nationwide.

“Today Petco Love announces an investment in Dallas Cat Lady and hundreds of other organizations as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessary euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only one component. This month, we will also launch the first of our national tools to empower all animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us.”

“We, the Dallas Cat Lady Board Members, volunteers and loyal supporters are thrilled and excited to learn that Dallas Cat Lady has been awarded the Petco Lifesaving Grant for 2021-2022, in the amount of $40,000.00. It means so much to receive this recognition from our partners at Petco Love (FKA Petco Foundation). We have been afforded so many wonderful opportunities through the partnership and with this grant in hand, we will be able to expand our efforts towards our mission exponentially! On behalf of our all-volunteer organization, (who I know will join me in spirit) I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.” Said Leigh Sessler, Executive Director.

Dallas Cat Lady is a nonprofit organization that strives to reduce the homeless cat population through fostering, adoptions and trap-neuter-release in the Dallas area. Since 2006, Dallas Cat Lady has helped over 10,000 cats find their forever homes and has dramatically helped to reduce the homeless cat population through major TNR efforts annually!
